#49: Josh in "Paquita Salas" (2019)

Updated: 4 days ago

Have you ever been to Spain? (Or maybe you're reading this from Spain...thanks for being here!). I haven't yet, but you can travel there...in your mind...through the magic of television. In 2019, Josh guest starred in a show originating from Spain, Paquita Salas, which I was able to find on Netflix.

He appears in Season 3, Episode 5 - Regional Dances, and you can find his scenes at the beginning and end of the episode. Josh plays Ryan, an English teacher who asks Clara out for dancing. We see him appear when it's time for the two of them to dance as well, during a cute moment where just when it looks like he doesn't show up...ta da! Ryan dazzles Clara with his charm (but apparently not punctuality).

While we don't see a ton of Josh in this, it was fun to see Josh speak Spanish again, sounding pretty fluent (which my understanding is that he actually IS fluent in Spanish, so that makes sense). This would mark the second project where we hear Josh speaking another language as his character, with the first one being 7 Days in Havana.

Have you seen this show? Let me know in the comments! This was my first time watching it, so I was a little lost plot wise, as I was really jumping into the middle of the action with a season 3 episode acting as my "pilot", but it did get me to laugh! It's a comedy (and more of a mature one with some adult/sexual humor) about a formerly successful talent agent who is now trying to climb back to success. If you know that main theme, you should be able to gauge what's going on for the most part. However, I will admit that if you're looking for more entertainment value out of this Josh credit vs just his appearance, you may want to to stream more of the show before watching this episode to get a better idea of the characters and plot lines. Also, keep in mind that the show is entirely in Spanish, so if you're in need of ingesting the show in another language, you'll want to ensure your subtitles are ready to go.

Until next time...

Peace and Joshperity,

G
