You'd think that after characters like Marty McFly from Back to the Future and Josh Futturman from Future Man learned about the consequences with messing with time that other characters would stop messing with time...but...guess not. (Also, where's the fun in that? At least we get more content!)
Franklin Fox, Josh's character in the 2023 film 57 Seconds had apparently never seen the classic Hulu show Future Man or Michael J Fox's famous films because he gets addicted to going back in time (57 seconds at that, just like in the title) to enhance aspects of his life...and of course, complicate them as well.

The film's plot is pretty interesting and multilayered - it focuses on Franklin, a financially-struggling writer who loves tech and hates big, corrupt corporations...especially the kind who sell addictive pills that led to the death of his sister. Franklin has multiple motivations: find love, (Check, check! He gets engaged pretty quickly to Jala, a woman he meets at work) witness new technology (Chek, check again! This is how he gets the ring that helps him jump 57 seconds back in time on command) and get revenge on the company that sold addictive pills which led to the death of his sister (Thankfully another check, check!).
With all of these motivations, the movie has a lot to offer - romance, suspense, drama, and sci-fi moments. It also has some pretty famous co-stars, like Morgan Freeman, who Josh shares a spot with on the movie posters. It was cool to see Josh share space with a big name but as expected, he held his own. For example, in one of the final scenes, Franklin is on a plane that's crashing along with the CEO of the nemesis company. Even though Franklin is scared to be potentially losing his life, he's relieved that this corrupt leader will also perish, and therefore avenge the death of his sister. To convey these emotions, Josh has to appear scared, sad, relieved, and overjoyed all at once...and he manages to do this!
While 57 Seconds wasn't a hit, I was particularly impressed with that moment and Josh's overall performance in this film. If you'd like to check it out for yourself, at the time of this post, it's available for purchase on the major movie retailer sites (AppleTV, Amazon, FandangoNow, etc).
Ya'll...can you believe we only have three movies left in our marathon? Even though we may be done reviewing Josh movies until a new release comes out, we aren't done posting, so be sure to keep checking the blog post-marathon for some special surprises!
Peace and Joshperity,
